I don't blog enough...

...or so I've been told. I want to start blogging more, and if I had a more definite audience, I just might feel a little more inclined to do so. So here I am, armed with my Mac dictionary to check the big words I might use (just to make sure I am using them correctly), ready to start blogging.
What do you want to know? What do people write about? I don't really read other people's blogs, so this is a bit challenging for me.
How about what I did today? Seems like an appropriate place to start if I don't really have anything else to talk about...maybe I'll find some interesting topic in my recap. Let's see....I got up, sat on my computer, poked around on Facebook and emails, then went out to lunch with my friend Chelsea & her little boy @ Cafe 27 in downtown Stevens Point. Mmmm, food. Real food. Local food. Healthy food. Seems so simple and basic, no? Then why is it so complicated to find real food these in restaurants these days? Most restaurants I've worked in (you don't want to know how many different ones I have...7 maybe?) serve you fresh-from-the-Sysco-truck goodness. Everything pre-cut, par-cooked, frozen and/or shrink-wrapped with plastic so that there is portion-to-cost control, minimal prep labor, and most importantly, so it can get from the kitchen to your table in less than 10 minutes...that is, if you are at a "sit-down" restaurant, on a non-weekend evening.
Cafe 27 was packed today. Maybe because it was lunchtime and rainy out, yes, but also probably because their food is good. Really good. It looks good, it smells good, it tastes good. Now, I'm not saying I know for a fact that all their food is local, organic or even home-made, but it sure appears that way! And there's not many restaurants in town that offer anything with ingredients like quinoa (thanks for helping me ID them, Chels!) or tahini spread...so kudos to you Cafe 27. Except for the recent remodel project that didn't include much more seating - people were waiting for a table for 1/2 hour...for lunch. That says something.
See, I just had to recap to find something to blab about. The rest of my day was boring. :)
